crpazfal.bmp (1349094 bytes)This picture was taken in Costa Rica in a valley called Paz de la Menta (Peace of Mind).  Please note the 200 foot waterfall in the background.   On the advice of some dear friends, I flew there in July of 1997 (with about 10 days notice).

skyline.jpg (21605 bytes)This picture was taken in my hometown of Houston, Texas high atop the roof of a 30 story building downtown.  Although I have now lived in 3 different countries, I always find myself returning to this great city.   It is a wonderful city in which to live, and a great city in which to conduct my business (see www.IwantMyRentRebate.com  ).

valley.jpg (78189 bytes) The mountian peak on the left side of the photo is of Cuerro Muerto (Mountain of Death).

It is so named because in the "old days" many travelers died from exposure trying to cross it.  (The air gets quite thin and the temperatures get near freezing even in the summer.)  Costa Rica is only about 60 miles wide, so you can actually see both the Caribbean and the Pacific from this mountain peak.

Here is a recent photo (Summer of 2001) of Spike (left), Sport (bottom), and Sparkle (top right).  Sparkle is Sport's bride-to-be and hopefully will be carrying on the line.

This is a my brother who died suddenly at the age of 36 (March 1, 2004).  The photo below was taken about 6 weeks before his death.  He and my mother took a cruise to the Cancun and had a wonderful time.

hanging.jpg (258807 bytes)This picture is me climbing a pyramid in Tikal, Guatamala about 10 years ago.  For more information on Tikal see: http://www.destination360.com/tikal/guide.htm

I find it the perfect metaphor of how I have had to hang on to my dream to build a home in Latin America.  Although MANY advised me against following such a path, I had some wonderful mentors who let me know that my dream was completely possible.  June and Arturo are retired down in the Yucatan and run a lovely resort.  To see what they now do, go to www.SliceofParadise.com .  The goal that they helped me write down about 12 years ago, went something like this:
